Still Pouring Buckets!!

We are now over the bridge at the Concordia Hotel.  It is a Unesco Heritage building  --  quaint!  Our room is very much smaller than what we had at the Villa Moretti.  It is sort of a Hobbit House -- an attic room actually with arched doorways and slanted roof.  We are working our way down to the cabin on the boat which will be that much smaller again than the Hobbit House -- so we won't have any surprises or expectations.  Having done this before we know very well what to expect on the boat.

And, yes, it continues to rain.  It was supposed to clear off this afternoon and did so momentarily but just as quickly clouded over again.  We are hopeful for tomorrow to bring back the sun so we can get on with our sailing/biking adventures.

The harbour is jam-packed with tour boats today.  There must be a dozen out there right now with passengers departing in the morning and more getting onboard.  We have posted a photo of five boats in a row and ours (the Kapetan Jure) is second in line from the harbour.  Apparently boarding procedure will be to board the last boat first with all of its passengers crossing through the other boats to get there.  That will be very interesting but necessary as there is not enough room in the harbour for all of these boats to line up.

You will notice that some of the boats are quite grand and others not so much.  Ours is getting towards the "not so much" end of the spectrum and compared to the other larger boats it looks like we may be going salmon fishing on the Yemen rather than Island hopping.

This will be our last day with internet access so we will not be posting again until we return from our tour.  We will update the blog and post more photos in a week.  Stay tuned for more.

Kapetan Jure nestled between two big premium sailing boats.  At least it isn't as small as the 4th one!

  1. If I didn't see the photos I would think you are in the UK and ready to head out on the Thames!!! Am sure all will clear for your week of island hopping on the bike&barge.
The pizza looked great and yes I agree, the eurpeans know how to make great pizza's.. it must be the cheese, the flour for the base and all the fresh herbs... Not too mention the beer, wine and local hooch!!
Glad you have enjoyed the culture and getting ready to head off on the next leg of your journey.
Have a great time and look forward to your next update and photo shoot in a week.
    Lots of Lovefrom your sis.

  2. Lois,
Raymond sent us your blog site so we will be following your trip with interest. Seems like a very interesting location and rather unique to bike and boat.
Stop and call Wolgang in Regensberg - it's a fun evening to sit and drink with him! We did it a couple of years ago on our way from Czech to Munich. Worth the stop.
Take care and have fun. Hope the knee stays fit.
